American Goldfinch Coaster – Goldfinch in Flowers

The Story:

Josiah and his dad and sister were busy packing their vehicle for a trip photographing grizzly bears in the mountains when a flash of yellow caught Josiah’s eye. Knowing it might have been a male American Goldfinch, he grabbed his gear and quickly spotted the bird snacking on a seedhead known as Prairie Smoke. Quietly moving into position, he laid in the grass to fill the foreground of his composition with colour-coordinating wildflowers.
