A family passion became a family business
The Launstein family’s wildlife photography has been featured on exhibit across Canada and in more than 70 national museums and galleries in six continents, including the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. and the Natural History Museum in London, U.K. Their Fine Art Limited Edition and Open Edition Prints bring the beauty of nature to the homes of collectors around the world. They are delighted to share their love of animals with others through their line of prints, calendars, greeting cards and giftware.
Their Wildlife Art Galleries in the Crowsnest Pass and Waterton Park are entirely family-owned and operated. You’ll find at least one of the Launstein artists in the gallery each day, sharing the stories behind their work.

I hope my pictures help people care more about the animals I have the privilege of photographing.

Jenaya speaking at the Smithsonian as Youth Photographer of the Year
Although John had embarked on a career in photography decades earlier, it was Jenaya who led the family into the exclusive focus on wildlife and nature photography. While still a teenager, she won numerous international competitions and demand for her and her father’s prints began to grow.

Josiah began following his big sister and dad into the field at age 5, and by age 10 had been named the international Young Outdoor Photographer of the Year. The Launsteins felt that a gallery was the best way to share their wild encounters with others, and opened their first gallery in 2016.
