Waxwing Coaster – Tossing ’em Back
The Story:
Every winter flocks of foraging Bohemian Waxwings work their way along the Rocky Mountains in southwestern Alberta, searching for food. This handsome waxwing was part of a large flock making short work of the dehydrated berries remaining on this Mountain Ash. John spotted the flock feasting on tree after tree in the neighbourhood surrounding the family’s gallery in the Crowsnest Pass, and grabbed his camera in time to catch the bird tossing a berry before swallowing it.
