Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel Coaster – Mountain Yoga

The Story:

One of the things Josiah likes best is hanging out with the wildlife species that inhabit the high country. While photographing pikas at 7,000 feet in the Canadian Rockies, he spotted this Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel on a nearby lichen-covered rock. Initially, Josiah was focused on creating some portraits as the ground squirrel posed for him, but when it began reaching down and doing a bit of personal grooming, he captured this adorable moment of “mountain yoga.”
