Short-Eared Owl Coaster – Greeting the Night

The Story:

John and his son, Josiah, found this handsome Short-Eared Owl hunting a salt marsh as a late-winter day came to a close in southwestern British Columbia. Unfortunately, the coastline had fallen into shadow as storm clouds began to gather on the horizon. Suddenly, a last sliver of sunlight broke free from the approaching storm and danced across the scene, softly painting the owl and its rustic perch in golden light for just a moment.
