Black-capped Chickadee Coaster – Winter Cheer

The Story:

John was out with his then-young nature-loving kids on a winter walk along the Bow River in southern Alberta when a few resident Black-capped Chickadees started darting through the forest around them. Birders and photographers learn pretty quickly that these birds are active and present quite the challenge to find through the lens or binoculars before they’re off to check out the next piece of forest real estate! This one perched just long enough for John to craft this simple portrait of a favourite species.
